Listen closely, the Department of Awesome Natural Wonders has something very important to tell you: this surly crustacean wears hairy mittens!

It’s called the Chinese Mitten Crab and it’s 100% real.

Native to eastern Asia and also known as the Shanghai hairy crab, this unusual creature is able to survive in both salt and fresh water. It’s considered a delicacy in Shanghai cuisine but also an invasive species in Europe and North America.
