Here, two northern elephant seal pups play-fight on the beach in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
Though they can be fun to watch, it’s crucial that you give these animals plenty of space – it’s safer for both you and them. To safely view elephant seals, watch quietly from a distance of at least 100 feet, and use binoculars if you want a closer look. If a seal becomes alert or agitated and begins to move away, you are too close! Learn more here.
