The Golden cownose ray (Rhinoptera steindachneri) is a species of eagle ray, of the family Myliobatidae. Endemic to the waters of the equatorial eastern Pacific, they migrate in huge shoals to more desirable waters seasonally.

Holy mola! Don’t be fooled, this isn’t a baby whale – it’s a mola mola!
Also known as ocean sunfish, mola mola are the largest bony fish in the ocean. Despite their huge size (they can weigh more than 2,000 pounds!) these fish chow down on tiny prey like jellyfish. This mola mola was spotted in Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary.
